It's no secret that malnutrition is dangerous. But some of the lasting effects of childhood malnutrition may surprise you. You might expect stunted growth and low weight gain - and these can certainly occur. But new research has linked one of the most common causes of disability in old age with childhood malnutrition.
However, it's not just a problem with aging. In impoverished countries, where children often do not receive adequate nutrition in their formative years, many children and young adults are now starting to suffer from hearing loss. In fact, 14-28% of the young people in South Asia have some form of hearing impairment, which is the fourth-leading cause of disability in the world. Research from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health has found a link between this issue and inadequate nutrition.
Between 1989 and 1991, researchers gathered nutrition information from over 2,000 children in Nepal. From 2006 to 2008, when those children were teens, the researchers evaluated their hearing. They found that the children who had experienced stunted growth in childhood due to poor nutrition were almost twice as likely to have some hearing loss as those who had normal growth. The same held true for the children who were too thin.

This study is an important reminder of the importance of good nutrition in the formative years. Adequate nutrition in childhood truly can have lifelong effects. Other studies have linked micronutrients, such as vitamin A, to improved hearing. You can't go back in time and force your childhood self to eat more carrots. But, if you are starting to have some hearing loss, there is something you can do today to help preserve what you still have. You can get an excellent combination of herbs and nutrients to support your hearing today by taking Advanced Hearing Formula.
In addition to 55% of your daily value of vitamin A, you'll get N-acetyl-l-cysteine (which helps your body produce protective antioxidants), acetyl-l-carnitine (to support energy production), and gingko biloba (to help keep your inner ear hair cells and auditory canal healthy). These and other nutrients in the product will help keep your auditory nerves functioning properly and ensure that you're getting adequate circulation to your ears.
Yours for better health,
